Special Dietary Needs or Food Allergies
Records must be updated yearly for students with special dietary needs.
A medical statement must be on file in the Food& Nutrition Services offices for any students. Please find Exhibit B for the form or contact the campus nurse or the Food & Nutrition manager at any of the district campuses.
Schools participating in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and/or School Breakfast Program (SBP) (and that are not participating in a special provision program) are required to send a letter to parents/guardians that contains the Income Eligibility Guidelines for Determining Free and Reduced Price Benefits along with a Free and Reduced Price School Meal application form. Hondo High School Students will receive this information in their orientation packet (all other schools provide free meals). Applications will be available on this website for downloading. The application is available in two versions - English and Spanish.
Contact the Food & Nutrition Services Office at 830-426-7600 or visit us at the Food & Nutrition Services Office located at the Auxiliary Services Building at 102 18th Street in Hondo if you have any questions. We'll be happy to help you understand the process and answer any questions you may have regarding your child's eligibility.
Community Eligibility Provision (CEP)
Meyer Elementary, Woolls Intermediate and McDowell Middle School will be participating in the CEP School Meal Program for school year 2020-2021. Students attending these three campuses will receive one Free Breakfast and one Free Lunch daily, and will not be required to complete an application to receive meals free of charge. Schools qualifying to operate CEP serve breakfast and lunch to all children at no charge and eliminate the collection of meal applications for free, reduced-price, and paid student meals. This new approach reduces burdens for both families and school administrators and helps ensure that students receive nutritious meals.
